Construction of the new multi-purpose funicular on the Valpelline power plant in the Aosta Valley began in June.
The project foresees the replacement the existing funiculars built by Agudio in the 1950s, which at that time was divided into two sections of approximately 1 km each, with a new system approximately 2 km long that will directly connect the power plant to the valve room.
The project involves the construction of a modular vehicle capable of transporting loads of up to 20 tons or a 6-person cabin and materials of up to 5 tons.
